Word Association of The Covid-19 Terms: Case Study on Indonesian Generation Z

Nowadays, society needs to understand the Covid-19 virus and improve appropriate attitudes actions, especially Generation Z. The present study aimed investigate adolescents' knowledge, responses, attitudes. This research method was a descriptive case study. Data were collected using free word association test semi-structured interviews. Respondents amounted 400 people with an age range of 17-24 years. Simple statistics Ms. Excel analyzed data; then, data coded Atlas.ti 9 application. results showed that most Z produced common words than idiosyncratic ones. Based on lexico-syntactic pattern, nouns responded by paradigmatic relation, while adjectives verbs syntagmatic. collocation, dominated lexical collocations, grammatical collocation responses minimal. term represented knowledge Generation-Z about definition, symptoms, origin, impacts, efforts deal virus, current condition Covid-19. tried accept pandemic interpreting wisdom hoping conditions would be better soon. However, few generation-Z negatively, suspected conspiracy, thought did not exist.
